Description
These two small covered dishes are oval-shaped, with stylized dolphin and seaweed handles, pedestal bases, and separate lids with cast handles. The dishes are decorated with cast and repoussé ornaments of shells, seaweed, scrolls, leaves, and seals. Service is in beaux-arts style with iconography relating to Newport. The iconography includes: shells, dolphins, seaweed, seal of u.s. navy, and seal of city of Newport.
