Description
A LARGE ROSEWOOD LIBRARY TABLE (American/Italian, circa 1845), with a base attributed to Gustav Herter. Features a later, octagonal top with a Vatican workshop mosaic scene of Romulus and Remus surrounded by a sample border of approximately 175 misc. marbles and semiprecious stones: malachite, jasper, agate, onyx, slate, etc. The base has massive griffins on 3 Baroque scrolled legs, which are heavily carved.
