A PASTEL PORTRAIT OF CONSUELO FAIR VANDERBILT (1903-2011) ( MRS. HENRY GASSAWAY DAVIS, III) BY E. SHIRLEY BORDEN (American, dated 1941). The subject is seated in a Directoire chair wearing a pink evening dress with pink lace jacket and a strand of pearls. The pieces is in its original giltwood frame. The subject married first Earl Edward Tailer Smith, secondly Henry Gassaway Davis III, thirdly William J. Warburton III, and fourthly N. Clarkson Earl, Jr. Mrs. Earl resided in Ridgefield, CT and was a prominent breeder of Skye terriers.
