Description
A SMALL ROUND COVERED CONTAINER (Japanese, c. 1850), black with gold details, with a wraparound scene on the body and lid depicting people in a garden bordered by buildings/pagodas. The faces of the figures are done in a flesh tone. The base is slightly flared, the lip is rimless, but the cover flares out over the rim.
