UNTITLED PORTRAIT OF A LADY (French, c. 1780), pastel on paper, housed in a gilt-wood frame. The subject is depicted at half length. She sits on a Louis XVI oval back chair in front of a dressing table and gilded mirror, clutching a letter in her right hand. She is wearing a white silk day dress with a low neckline and high white lace collar, her hair is worn high and powdered.
