"Madonna and Child"
Oil on panel “Madonna and Child” (Italian, 19th century) after Raphael (Italian, 1483-1520). The painting depicts the Virgin holding the Christ child up with her left hand on his waist and her right on his chest. The Christ child wears a red coral necklace and bracelet, his gaze is turned upwards away from the viewer, with his right hand he hands a piece of fruit to the third character in the painting (possibly a representation of an infant St. John the Baptist). Original to Mr. Wetmore's bedroom at Chateau-sur-Mer.
