Lacquered Lidded Box

19th century

A lacquered lidded box (Japanese, 19th century) with a tasseled red silk cord tied to it. The lid of the box is decorated with a silver and gold accented chrysanthemum motif while the inside features a marbled effect of red, blue, white, and gray.
