Description
Chippendale carved and figured mahogany slant-front desk. Molded hinged lid opening to a fitted interior with three concave shelves, block small drawers, and secret drawers with arched fronts. Central prospect door opens to a fitted interior above a well with sliding cover, the case with four thumb molded and graduated long drawers above a molded base and ogee bracket feet. Brass rosettes with bail handles hardware.Signature of John Townsend inscribed on bottom. Brass hardware stamped "I Gold."
