UNTITLED PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG MAN (English, c. 1730) done in oil on canvas and housed in a gilt-wood frame. The subject is depicted standing, facing forward at three quarter length. He has long brown hair and wears a dark blue velvet waist coat with gold cuffs over a white silk stock and tie with lace cuffs. His right hand points to an open window with a landscape and blue sky in the background, his left hand rests on his waist. A King Charles spaniel is depicted on the lower left of the canvas and places its paw on the figure’s waist.
