A Queen Anne Tablespoon
A Queen Anne silver tablespoon (American, Newport, c. 1740) made by Jonathan Otis (American, 1723-1791). The spoon has an oval bowl, the reverse of which is molded with a rounded drop within a larger drop. The reverse of the handle is engraved with the monogram “PG” in block shaded letters separated with a cross. The handle is marked on the reverse with a touch mark reading “J. Otis” in script within an oblong punch.
