A silver tablespoon (American, Newport, c. 1770) made by Walter Cornell (American, 1729-1801). The spoon has a deep oval bowl and long coffin shaped handle marked with the monogram “LAA” in script. The reverse of the handle is impressed with the touch mark “CORNELL” in Roman block letters within a rectangular punch.
