A black and white photograph depicting the interior of a factory on Goat Island, just prior to redevelopment. During World Wars I and II, Goat Island served as the location of the U.S. Naval Torpedo Station. The factory appears to be mainly made of wooden planks supported by steel scaffolding. Large windows surrond a center space, which includes large wooden forms and a second level serviced by a staircase. A large metal structure towards the ceiling reads: "TON MILE CRANE."
