Minkisi

1750-1800

Minkisi artifacts recovered during a staff exploration of the attic at the Wanton Lyman Hazard House in 2005. Items were found under the floorboards of the attic. The minkisi includes: 3 fabric fragments, 1 large section and 2 smallers pieces; 1 human molar; 3 fragments of Chinese import ceramics; 3 beads, 1 reddish brown, one white with blue line, 1 turquoise; 3 wooden buttons; 1 worked Cowrie shell; 2 fragments of eggshell; 1 length of cord; 2 full shells; 7 shell fragments; 29 iron pins; and 15 glass shards.
