A PAIR OF GEORGE II STYLE MAHOGANY ARMCHAIRS (American, late 19th century). Each chair has a shaped crest rail above a solid shaped splat carved with a lappet, shell clasps, and floral swags, above a caned seat. The shepherd's crook arms end in birds' heads over the shaped seat rail, on cabriole legs headed by satyr masks and with hairy pair feet. The splayed cabriole rear legs terminate in claw and ball feet. Attributed to Morlock & Bayer (maker), Providence, RI.
