Description
ONE OIL ON CANVAS PORTRAIT OF FLORA WHITNEY MILLER (MRS. GEORGE MACCULLOCH MILLER III, 1897-1986) (American, circa 1942), daughter of Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney, (1875-1942) and President of the Whitney Museum of American Art from1942 to 1966. The subject is seated and depicted in three-quarter length in a shell chair and wearing black lace with silver accented mantilla, a white gown and a red silk cape over the right arm of the chair. Signed at lower right "Eugene Speicher."
