Description
A COLORED PRINT "HUSSARD ET SON CHEVAL" (French, 1876) after Jean Baptiste Édouard Detaille (French, 1848-1912). The print depicts a French Second Empire cavalry soldier sanding in profile next to a horse. The soldier wears a blue jacket, red trousers, and black boots, has a rifle slung over his shoulder and a saber strapped to his waist. Just below the horse on the right side is written "Fac Simile D’Après une Aquarelle De Edouard Detaille 1876." It is housed in an ebonized Eastlake style black and gilt frame.
