Description
ONE REGENCY STYLE, MAHOGANY TALL CASE CLOCK (English, 19th century) in the form of a Gothic arch, with applied Gothic arch shapes on the mullioned door and square base. The clock dial is fitted with two hands, it is decorated with a painted scene of figures next to a boat with buildings in the background, Roman numerals mark the hours, and it is covered by a glass door. Columnar molding decorates the edges of the case. The square base is subdivided by carved molding and terminates in bracket feet. Originally from the Malbone estate in Newport.
