Description
A WEDGWOOD SOUVENIR PLATE (English, c. 1893) by Josiah Wedgwood & Sons, retailed by Ovingtons. The blue and white transfer-ware plate is decorated with a foliate Anglo-Japonesque style rim and center scene of the Administration Building designed by Richard Morris Hunt for the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. The reverse of the commemorative plate is marked in blue "Brooklyn / Ovingtons/ Chicago", stamped with a US patent trademark, and the Wedgwood maker’s mark.
