A mezzotint portrait entitled "The Reverend James Honyman, A.M. - late Rector of Trinity Church, Newport" (American, 1774) by Samuel Okey (British, active 1745-1780), after a painting by Gains, printed by Reak & Okey, Newport, RI. The subject is depicted seated at three-quarter length. The Rev. faces right and is wearing black ecclesiastical robes and a curly white powdered wig. His right arm rests on a side table with books and he clutches a book with his right hand. Inscribed beneath the image on the left side is "Gains, pinxt", on the right side is "S. Okey, fecit." Beneath the title is "Printed by Reak & Okey, Newport Rhode Island, Nov. 2 1774." The print is housed in a black painted wood frame with an interior gilt gesso border.
