Description
An English Delft blue and white flower brick (Liverpool or Bristol, c. 1740), the rectangular block has a low raised edge, the top is pierced with three bands of apertures, each containing nine holes , the central opening is larger than the rest. The front and back are painted with a fisherman seated beneath a willow tree along the banks of a body of water. The sides are painted with a boat on a body of water. The long edges are taller than the short ends, forming bracket feet which the block stands on.
