Description
A transparent enamel cigarette case (Russian, 19th century) decorated on one side with a flowered river scene with a pink and white crane standing at the water’s edge, the sun in the background, the reverse side is decorated with a large fish chasing a smaller one with a flowering tree and two birds in the background. Blue is the predominate color throughout the piece, but the enamel is also in tones of yellow, red, green, and white. The case is marked on each side with an unidentified marker’s mark and “84” (quality mark).
