Description
A set of six oil on canvas neo-classical cameo trophy wall panels (French, c. 1890) from the studio of Jules Allard and Sons, Paris, installed in the 2nd floor Guest Bedroom of The Breakers. The panels each depict a cream cameo trophy with scenes of classical figures held aloft by classical figures standing on pedestals with carved friezes surrounded by delicate scrolling foliage and floral swags on a pastel green/mint ground. Two wide panels are installed on the south and west walls while two narrow panels are installed on the north wall.
