Description
A porcelain stationery rack (American, 1896-1906) made by Lenox and retailed by Gilman Collamore & Co., NY. The rack has two compartments for holding letters and is decorated with shaped reserves with colored flowers on a green ground with gilt borders. The underside of the piece is stamped in green with an early Lenox mark of an entwined “CAC”, for Ceramic Art Company, surrounded by a wreath with “LENOX” printed below. Beneath this, also in green, is the retailer stamp reading “GILMAN COLLAMORE & Co./ FIFTH AVENUE & 30TH ST / NEW YORK.”
