Description
A pair of Louis XVI gilded bronze andirons (or chenets) (French, late 19th century) with central urns and flame finials. The sides have heart shaped handles draped with laurel garland swags. The pair is raised on stepped rectangular bases, flanked by acorn finials with a pierced foliated apron, and stand on tapered feet headed by square blocks accented with flower-head paterae.
