Description
A white marble life-sized statue of Diana the Huntress (French, c. 1900) in the style of the Belle Epoque. Diana is depicted standing, wearing a voluminous, draped classical gown, with her head turned to the viewer’s left. Her hair is tied in a chignon, and her raised crooked right arms reaches to grab and arrow from the quiver slung over her back. She holds a gilded bow in her left hand. The whole is raised on a small square base. The sculpture is original to and installed in the dining room of The Elms.
