Description
A Canton blue and white cylindrical tankard (Chinese, mid-19th century), the sides are loosely painted with island pavilions, a bridge, tai'pan, and fishing boats below a wide stylized border in an underglaze blue. The tankard has an entwined strap handle with triangular terminals.
