Description
A colored stipple engraving entitled “I Have Lost My Way” (English, 1830) by Henry James Richter (English, 1772-1857) after a drawing by Lady Charlotte Georgiana Bedingfield (English, 1769-1854). The print depicts a young girl in a blue calico smock with her finger held to her mouth in an expression of confusion and worry, she holds a branch in her right hand and stands in a forest clearing with a cave in the background on the right. The print is housed in a period black and gold eglomise glass surround and original gilt molded frame. Below the image the print is inscribed “Engraved by Henry Richter from a drawing by Lady Bedingfield / I have lost my way!”
