Description
A presentation axe (Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 19th century) composed of dark green jade (nephrite). The ax has a long tapering rectangular section shaft with beveled edges. At the top is a demilune shaped blade wrapped with a gold silk cord and pendent tassel. Accompanying the ax is a silk lined presentation box.
