Description
A lidded vase (Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 18th century) composed of green jade. The vase is thinly carved and translucent, its body is carved with a scrolling chrysanthemum motif in shallow relief. The sides, neck, and lid are decorated with raised floral sprays which form loops, linked to these are free-standing rings. The lid is topped by a carved, raised lotus final. The whole is raised on the original rosewood base, which is inlaid with silver wire in floral motifs.
