Description
One landscape woodblock (1868), executed to illustrate a story published in the Riverside Magazine. There is a garden pavilion in the left background that is Chinese inspired. Two female figures at fence in foreground seem to be portraits of La Farge's sisters, Emily and Louisa. Unsigned, Inscribed at lower right in reverse as part of design: in the Kings Garden. The garden scene was possibly inspired by the expanse behind the La Farge country residence at Glen Cove, L.I.
