Four Mahogany Stack or Nesting Tables

19th century

FOUR MAHOGANY STACK OR NESTING TABLES (Chinese, 19th century), with lyre shaped legs on a trestle base. The rectangular tops have molded, indented corners and are decorated with Chinoiserie lacquer designs depicting painted gilt figures in village scenes, the scene on each table varies slightly. These scenes are encircled by a border design of fruiting vines broken up by circles surrounding Chinese characters.
