Description
A SET OF FIVE CARVED GILT-WOOD STOOLS (French, 19th century) from the workshop of Jules Allard and Sons. Done in the baroque style, the matching stools have dipped, rectangular over-stuff seats upholstered in red velvet outlined with matching braiding. The shaped seat rail is carved with a pierced stylized leaf motif. The stools stand on four mouton shaped legs that are carved with scrolling foliage and end in square gadrooned toes. The legs are joined by an H-shaped stretcher that is carved with foliage and a shell motif at center.
