Description
AN ADAMESQUE-REVIVAL CANE SIDE CHAIR (English, 19th century) with a satinwood frame and removable peach colored velvet seat cushion. The rolled crest rail above the sloping cane back is painted with a scene of reclining cherubs in a landscape setting. The chair stands on four legs. The front two are cabriole in shape, have rams head mask capitals, are carved with a trellis and scrolling acanthus leaf design, and end in hoof feet. The plain block rear legs flare outwards.
