Description
Two pieces of correspondence, both to Ella Rives King (Mrs. David King) from her daughter Gwendolen King Armstrong (Mrs. E. M. Armstrong). Includes a newspaper clipping mentioning the creation of cow pasture in Newport and an article reporting on the health of Mrs. Pembroe Jones who was ill with typhoid. The first letter mentions the letter will be transported to Ella via the RMS Lusitania. The Lusitania was sunk in 1915 during the World War I by a German U-boat, killing nearly two-thirds of the passengers aboard in an incident which turned international opinion against Germany.
