Two pieces of correspondence to Ella Rives King (Mrs. E. M. Armstrong) from her daughter Gwendolen King Armstrong (Mrs. E. M. Armstrong). In the letters, written on stationary from the Hotel Belmont, NY, Gwendolen writes about the unexpected death of her husband Edward Maitland Armstrong (1874-1915). Gwendolen asks her mother to have her youngest child, Gwendolen Ella, pick a bouquet of flowers from the gardens at Kingscote, writing, "I would like to put them near Maitland for he loved her so much & I want to be able to tell her some day about it."
