Correspondence from Ella Rives King to Gwendolen King
Creator
Date
Dated 18 May 1915
Description
Correspondence to Gwendolen King Armstrong (Mrs. E. M. Armstrong) from her mother Ella Rives King (Mrs. David King). The letter appears to have been written during a period of mourning, as evidenced by the black border around the paper and envelope. In the letter Ella writes to Gwendolen about skipping a trip to West Point writing, "I really don't think the boys would care at all about Westpoint [sic], for the Cadets are not in the least thrilling in their ugly grey uniforms; the views are most beautiful and the buildings very interesting, but I don't think there is much there or at the [illegible] to entertain the children." She also describes motor cars owned by Maud Rives Borland and Margaret La Farge.
