Description
Correspondence to Gwendolen King Armstrong (Mrs. E. M. Armstrong) from her mother Ella Rives King (Mrs. David King). Written onboard the RMS Adriatic, an ocean liner of the White Star Line which launched in 1907. She was one of the quartet of ships known as The Big Four. Though she was the only one of the four never to be the world's largest ship, she was the fastest of the Big Four. Some of the Titanic's rescued passengers and crew returned to Britain aboard her. In the First World War the Adriatic became a troop ship, returning to passenger service after the war. She was decommissioned in 1935.
