Description
A green painted trolley style tea cart (American, c. 1900) made by either the Wakefield Rattan Co. or Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company. The cart has bamboo and twine styled supports and dividers along the top arcade, sides, and bottom shelf. There is a removeable inset wicker tray on the top. The cart is raised on four legs, from which the castors have been removed, and a platform stretcher which makes the bottom shelf.
In 1897 Wakefield Rattan consolidated with its greatest competitor, Heywood Brothers and Company, the new company was named Heywood Brothers and Wakefield Company (1897-1921).
