Description
A Chippendale style George II tripod candle stand (English, c. 1755) composed of mahogany. The legs are carved with scrolling acanthus leaves and end in scroll feet. The center support features fluting, gadrooning, and acanthus leaf carving . The shaped top has a carved pie crust edge with raised gadrooning along the top. A label on the base is inscribed "Frank Partridge Works of Art, 26 Kings Street, James, NY."
