Description
A pair of American Neo-Classical walnut and Italian scagliola-topped library tables (American, c. 1865-75), each with an octagonal top and a plain frieze supported on squared scroll legs, resting on a concave-sided quadrangular platform. Each with an Italian (Rome or Florence) scagliola top of white marble inlaid in simulated porphyry and other marbles in the pattern of a Medici vase containing flowering shrubbery and perched exotic birds. Attributed to Thomas Brooks, New York.
